MENOMONIE, Wisconsin — The Menomonie Police Department is mourning the unexpected death of Officer Sam Miller, who died while off duty.
Officer Miller joined the Menomonie Police Department in January 2024, with a decade of law enforcement experience. He began his career in 2014, working for the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, the Durand Police Department, the Boyceville Police Department, and the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.
In light of Officer Miller’s unexpected death, neighboring law enforcement agencies have stepped in to help with public safety in Menomonie in the coming days.
“You will notice police vehicles from partnering law enforcement agencies in the community to help ensure law enforcement services continue without disruption,” the department posted to its Facebook page.
The Menomonie Police Department has requested patience, understanding, and respect for Officer Miller’s family’s privacy as staff and the community deal with this tragic loss.
