Serious motorcycle crash, dump truck swerves to avoid on North Schiffer decker

At 3:45 p.m. on Friday, reports came in of a major crash involving a motorcycle and a dump truck in the Snowball area of North Schiffer decker. Jasper County E-911 was called.

The Carl Junction Fire Department, Jasper County Deputies, and a METS paramedic all came to help. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was told about it.

From Peace Church Road in the north, all traffic was stopped right away on North Schiffer decker. And cars were turning around in Snowball near the scene of the crash.

When we got to the scene, we saw a METS ambulance rush the motorbike driver with lights and sirens to a nearby hospital.

PRELIMINARY CRASH INFORMATION RELEASED

Because the crash was so bad, we’re waiting to share information so that family can be told. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has now released information about the people who were in the accident.

A single person was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson Softail Classic. His name is Gilbert Talamantez and he is 46 years old. He was on Schiffer decker going south. He was hurt badly and taken to a hospital in Joplin right away. In the end, we find out that he was moved to Springfield, Missouri, for better care.

Jakob Farmer , 25, of Webb City, Mo. was driving a 1999 Peterbilt 379. He was traveling north on Schiffer decker.

“Occurred as [Talamantez] lost control of [Harley Davidson] in a curve, overturned, and ejected the driver. [Farmer] attempted to avoid the crash by travelling off the right side of the roadway, but struck [Harley Davidson] and [Talamantez].”

The wrecked cars and other trash were taken away by Schraders Towing.
