A letter from prosecutors alleges that Sean “Diddy” Combs brutally harassed his own personal staff. The letter also attempted to explain the many charges Diddy is presently facing. This came to light at the mogul’s most recent bond hearing.
Prosecutors Gave The Judge Their Letter At Diddy’s Friday Bail Hearing
Diddy has been in legal difficulties since September, when he was indicted on many allegations, including sex trafficking. He has pled not guilty to these allegations while in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Diddy appeared at a bond hearing in Manhattan federal court on Friday. His lawyers have proposed to impose numerous conditions on the tycoon if he is granted bail, including 24-hour surveillance.
However, prosecutors are attempting to prevent Diddy from being released, claiming that he violated several federal rules while in prison. Many of these charges were laid forth in a letter to the judge.
According to People, the letter stated that “Beyond his romantic partners, the defendant also physically abused his personal staff.” The sentence continued: “Former staff members have described the defendant threatening to kill them, throwing objects at them, and being struck, punched, and shoved by the defendant, and seeing him do the same to others.”
The letter also purportedly attempted to highlight the charges Diddy is facing. For example, it claimed that the mogul showed up to a woman’s residence and tried to break down her door with a hammer.
A Few Of Diddy’s Bail Proposals Have Already Been Rejected
The lawsuit is being overseen by United States District Judge Arun Subramanian. His verdict on Diddy’s bail petition is scheduled to be released this week. The mogul’s trial is set to take place in May 2025.
Combs’ defense team, however, has described the prosecution’s case as “thin.” They proposed that he be released on $50 million bail under several conditions.
As previously reported, Subramanian recently rejected a bail request that would have kept the entrepreneur under house arrest at his private island residence on Star Island in Florida. Although Diddy has a dock, he would not have had a boat under this plan’s terms, and there is only one way off the island.
One alternative was to place Diddy under house arrest in his three-bedroom Upper East Side apartment. Some of these bail requests included various limitations for the mogul, including as limiting his contact with his legal team and family. However, Diddy has already had many bail offers denied.
