A man hired to work on a roof died while on the job, but his body was not discovered until days later, during a block holiday celebration, according to authorities.

Authorities and paramedics responded to a November 23 report of a “unresponsive male” on the roof of a company in the 3500 block of West Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank, California, according to Burbank Police.

Officers promptly initiated life-saving procedures, but the unidentified guy died, according to authorities.

Police determined the man “had been hired to do some work on the roof and had passed away while doing the work,” authorities said.

Authorities believe there were no signs of foul play or trauma in the incident.

Police haven’t revealed his name or age. It is not immediately known who discovered the man on the roof.

The man had last been seen on Thursday, and his family filed a missing persons report on Friday, but his body was not discovered until Saturday, according to KTLA.

On Friday, November 22, Burbank hosted its annual Holiday in the Park event, which included a vintage car display, live music, a holiday boutique, an art market, a photo opportunity with Santa, and food trucks. Magnolia Boulevard is partially closed by the city.

According to the outlet, the roofer’s body was discovered at a shop located within those blocked blocks.

According to authorities, the Los Angeles County Coroner Investigator has responded and will handle the investigation.
