MEMPHIS, USA— Five universities in Missouri now let some potential college students get in right away without having to fill out an application.
Dozens of universities across the country have teamed up with the education website Niche to create a direct admissions program that will make it easier for students to get into college.
Based on the information in their Niche profile, the tool helps high school seniors get into different colleges and get scholarships.
Niche says that the Missouri institutions that are taking part in the scheme are…
- University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL) – St. Louis
- Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) – Cape Girardeau
- Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) – Rolla
- University of Central Missouri (UCM) – Warrensburg
- Northwest Missouri State University (NWMO) – Maryville
Students with certain GPAs, test scores, and academic hobbies might be accepted to the university without having to do anything else.
The program is meant to get more people to sign up for school. Officials at UMSL told St. Louis Public Radio that the program is meant to make applying to college less stressful and to make the process easier for first-generation or low-income students.
Students who want to join the program are also urged to visit colleges that are part of the program. click here to learn more about the Niche Direct Admissions program.
