Donald Trump's future with Elon Musk is predicted by Maggie Haberman.

Maggie Haberman believes Donald Trump could stick with Elon Musk. For This Reason.
A New York Times journalist described why “this relationship could last for quite some time.”

Maggie Haberman of The New York Times discussed why she feels President-elect Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk will continue to collaborate for some time.

Trump has appointed Musk to lead a non-official government department aimed at reducing public spending.

There have been reports that Trump loyalists are dissatisfied with Musk’s presence at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago headquarters, attendance at transition meetings, and what looks to be his growing influence on the returning President.

However, Haberman told CNN on Wednesday that Trump and Musk are now “in good standing” and that Trump has shown no public signals of being dissatisfied with Musk.

The president “never likes anybody around for too long” because “one of the things that people around him have come to realize over time is that scarcity is a commodity for them if they want to have longevity with him,” according to Haberman.

Nonetheless, Trump has a “huge fascination with wealth,” “equates wealth with intelligence” etc. “so I actually think this relationship could last for quite some time,” according to her.

“When relationships start to become problematic in Trump’s mind is usually when the person starts attracting negative headlines that bounce off on Trump,” according to Haberman. “That’s not happening right now.”
