Adoray appoints Christa Walz as the new Executive Director

The Adoray Home Health & Hospice Board of Directors is happy to say that Christa Walz will be the new Executive Director of the organization starting September 15, 2024. Christa Walz takes over the job from Mary Aaby.

This is the beginning of a new era for Adoray, which has been helping patients and families in Western Wisconsin with caring care for almost 30 years.

From Glenwood City, Wisconsin, Christa Walz has lived and worked at Adoray for 19 years. She started as a physical therapist and worked her way up to become the director of therapy and then the senior director of home health.

She has raised her family in this community with her husband Gabe, daughter Haidyn, and son Langston. Her work has been built on service and community, which makes her a great choice to be the organization’s fifth leader.

The College of St. Scholastica gave Walz her master’s degree in physical therapy. She is now the Vice Chair, At Large Director for WiAHC.

Walz has been a key part of Adoray’s Home Health Department’s success and long-term viability during her time there, expertly managing the many changes made by CMS over the past 20 years. She has made sure that Adoray’s Home Health services stay an important part of the community by introducing new ideas like Remote Patient Monitoring.

This helps patients keep up healthy habits, follow their care plans after getting care, and lowers their chances of needing to go back to the hospital. Christa’s commitment to great care and ability to think ahead will help Adoray move into the future.

“Christa impressed us as a Board with her knowledge, her vision for the future, and her love for all Adoray staff and volunteers,” said Eilidh Pederson, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Christa brings a lot of leadership and experience to the group.” We are sure that she will focus on goal, vision, and strategy as she leads Adoray into its next successful chapter.

Christa Walz expressed her happiness at the new chance, saying, “I am deeply honoured to be chosen as Adoray’s next Executive Director.” Over the past 19 years, I’ve grown with this organisation and seen personally how much we’ve changed the lives of our patients and their families.

We’re getting close to 30 years of service, and I can’t wait to lead this amazing group of people as they continue to serve our community with kindness and skill.

Christa also talked about how directly she feels connected to Adoray’s mission. She said, “Adoray Hospice has provided exceptional care to my family, and that experience made me even more determined to make sure that all families in our service area receive the same support and care when they need it most.”

This commitment is what makes me want to keep helping patients and families get through some of life’s hardest times with honesty, kindness, and respect.

Walz will start her new job as Executive Director right away, with a planned handoff from Mary Aaby. This will make sure that the change in leadership goes smoothly.

Adoray Home Health & Hospice has been a source of support for almost 30 years, giving people of all ages home health, palliative, and hospice care.

With Christa in charge, the group is dedicated to improving the standard and accessibility of care, meeting patients where they are, and making sure that no one has to go through their journey alone.

As Adoray moves into its next era of service, it will continue to provide caring, high-quality care by bringing new ideas and best practices to Western Wisconsin.
