CENTERVIEW, Missouri – One lady has been charged with stealing over $1,500 worth of things from a semi-truck parked near an abandoned building in a rural Missouri town.

According to Henry County, Missouri Circuit Court records filed on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Casey Hoyt, 35, of Calhoun, has been charged with stealing a semi-truck and losing more than $1,500.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, about 4:35 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, emergency responders were dispatched to the area of N. Depot and N. Graham St. in Centerview after reports of a woman being found in an abandoned structure.

When first responders came, the victim reported finding Hoyt holding documentation stored in the cab of his semi-truck. She allegedly proposed oral intimacy in exchange for a transport to Alabama. When the victim said he was going to phone police, she fled into a nearby forested area.

Investigators discovered Hoyt had stolen a navigation system, a CB radio, and five six-packs of Dr. Pepper, totaling around $1,535. On Tuesday, she was found at an address near the crime scene. The homeowner claimed Hoyt had been staying with him before she was discovered inside. The stolen things were discovered along a nearby trail.

According to law enforcement officials, Hoyt was discovered in the house and arrested. During an interview, she stated that she had taken a big amount of wine and had no memory of the night before.

Hoyt was still being held in Henry County jail on a $10,000 bond as of Saturday, November 15. She faces a single charge of stealing $750 or more, which may result in up to 7 years in jail and a $10,000 fine. A bond reduction hearing has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20.
