Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are showcasing their friendship and style with the help of Black-owned fashion label Telfar.
The dynamic pair completed the ensemble with bubble coats from the brand’s iconic shopping bags. The purse was also included in Oprah’s Favorite Things, making the media mogul’s appearance in the current winter collection well-deserved. In an Instagram photo, Winfrey and King showed off their matching sets.
“We like @telfarglobal—a Queens-born designer whose handbag is also on #OprahsFavoriteThings—and this hip and oversized unisex quilted nylon puffer with a hood will keep your body warm through the cold days,” according to the post’s caption.
While Winfrey wore a beige coat and luggage, King showed off a bright yellow nylon puffer. The puffers represent Telfar’s extension beyond its iconic shopping bags to include jackets and other items.
The coats worn by Winfrey and King will cost $525 and available in nine different colorways. Those looking for a smaller, more affordable variant can get the puff hoodie for $400. The matching shopping bags sell for $260.
However, the puff collection also includes sweatpants and headbands to complete the appearance and reflect the famous duo’s fashion preferences. Telfar, created by Telfar Clemens, continues to expand its reach, including the opening of its first flagship store.
The 10,000-square-foot venue in New York’s SoHo district attracted hundreds of Telfar fans for its grand opening on November 23. The brand revealed its hidden new bag as shoppers browsed its whole collection of handbags and other clothing items. Fans have joined the fad, including ordinary fashionistas and big personalities such as Winfrey and King.
As the Black-owned company grows, Telfar paves the path for diverse designers to dominate the fashion industry.
