A Wisconsin-wide search has been launched to locate 47-year-old Virgil Thew, who has been on the run since two girls and a woman were discovered dead inside his New Lisbon home on Monday.
The New Lisbon Police Department issued an alert Friday evening, stating that Thew has been charged with three homicides after the bodies were discovered at a home in the 300 block of West Bridge Street at 4:30 p.m. on December 30.
Elizabeth Kolba, the woman discovered dead in her home, has been identified. The two girls have not been formally identified at this time, but police have stated that they are 12 and 13 years old.
Police say they have had confirmed sightings of Thew in the New Lisbon area since the discovery, but he has yet to be located despite extensive searches. He is now thought to be outside of the area.
Police say one of the girls went missing from Monroe County on Sunday. Police said the juvenile was apprehended and last seen with Thew, who was known to live in New Lisbon.
On Monday morning, while looking for the missing juvenile, New Lisbon authorities discovered a second missing girl.
Thew stands 5’11” tall and weighs 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who sees Thew should call 911 immediately and avoid approaching him because he is armed and dangerous. If you have any information or tips about the case, please contact Juneau County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 608-847-5649.
