Tim Walz, Democratic vice presidential contender, responded candidly and sharply on Sunday when podcaster and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s alleged joke about Puerto Rico was aired during Donald Trump’s event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Hinchcliffe commented, “There’s a lot going on. I’m not sure whether you’re aware, but there is currently a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean. Yeah. I believe it’s called Puerto Rico.
The tape was shown to Walz during a Twitch stream with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Afterward, the Minnesota governor simply questioned, “Who is that jackwad?”
Ocasio-Cortez identified the comedian and described it as “super-disappointing.”
Walz then attacked Republican presidential contender Donald Trump for his handling of Hurricane Maria, which ravaged Puerto Rico and caused widespread devastation in 2017 during his presidency.
“Does anyone remember how he responded to Maria in Puerto Rico?” “It was absolutely horrific, down there insulting people,” Walz said.
