Threats against schools increasing in Iowa

Hello, and welcome to ABC 6 News! In spite of the fact that the new school year has only just started, roughly fifty schools in the state of Iowa have already reported that they have been the target of threats directed on themselves.

There have been eleven people brought into custody, which is a number that is more than the entire number of arrests that took place throughout the whole of the previous school year.

The hazards that are posed by social media platforms have been identified as the most significant contributor to this point, as well as the source of the most concern, according to the officials.

It was reported that there were 300 threats made against schools in the state of Iowa in the previous year; according to officials, the state is on track to surpass that number this year.

At this time, the state is working to increase the number of emergency radios that are deployed in schools and is also conducting continual outreach in order to give additional services.
