The Supreme Court will not hear the appeal of a former Rochester man's killer

St. Paul, Minnesota — The Minnesota Supreme Court has refused a plea to examine the case of an Arizona man serving a more than 100-year prison sentence for murdering a former Rochester resident and three others.

The quadruple homicide occurred in September 2021 in St. Paul, and the victims were discovered shot to death in an SUV parked in a cornfield near Menomonie, Wisconsin. Investigators discovered six expended shot casings inside the vehicle, as well as Antoine Suggs’ 41-year-old Arizona driver’s license.

Matthew Pettus (26), Nitosha Flu-Pressley (30), Loyace Foreman (35), and Jasmine Sturm (30) were the victims in this case. Pettus spent several years in Rochester before relocating to St. Paul about a year before his death.

Court documents show that Suggs was caught in Arizona roughly two weeks after western Wisconsin authorities issued a countrywide arrest notice for him. He was later convicted of four counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths, and the Minnesota Court of Appeals upheld his conviction and sentence earlier this year.

Suggs’ father received a 58-month sentence for helping an offender. He was accused of helping his son move the victims’ remains to the cornfield where they were discovered.
