Someone threatened to blow up UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s Minnesota home 12 hours after he was slain in New York City.
According to Maple Grove Police Department documents obtained by TMZ, a City Attorney in Maple Grove received an email alleging there was a pipe bomb at Brian’s home.
The threat arrived Wednesday just after 7 p.m. The bomb squad was dispatched, but they discovered no explosive devices.
The bomb squad also visited Brian’s estranged wife, Paulette “Pauley” Thompson, who lived a few blocks away. Brian and Paulette have been separated for years, but they live near together; one of their two children is still a minor.
Security at Paulette’s home told police that around 15 minutes before cops arrived, a female in a Jeep Renegade put something in her mailbox.
Security noticed the Jeep had an Illinois license plate and reported that the thing in the mailbox “appeared to be an envelope the size of a cell phone.” Police used a K-9 to search the mailbox but discovered nothing inside.
Police interrogated Paulette and many other persons, but none of them reported seeing anything strange.
Paulette had previously told cops that Brian had received threats, but she had no idea who had made them.
