The family of a worker who tragically lost his life in the recent PEMEX gas release has initiated a wrongful death lawsuit

One of the workers who died last week when a chemical spilled at the PEMEX plant was Jason Scott’s family who has sued the company and its partners for wrongful death.

The gas leak on October 10 killed two workers and hurt dozens more. The nearby cities of Deer Park and Pasadena were told to stay inside because of the danger.

His family filed the lawsuit, which says that Scott “suffered fatal injuries and endured pain and suffering as he succumbed to the toxic gas.”

It also says that Scott’s “wife, children, and parents have been irreparably deprived of their beloved family member as a result of Defendants’ conduct.”

Kurt Arnold, an attorney for Scott’s family, said that the company is also representing 11 other workers who were hurt in the accident.

Mo Aziz, another lawyer involved in the lawsuits, showed worry about the health effects on people who were exposed to the toxic gases.

“After being hospitalized at first, they were sent home, but they are now following up with health care providers because they are all experiencing the symptoms of hydrogen sulfide poisoning, which are shortness of breath, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, headaches, and some neurological dysfunction,” Aziz said.
