The family of a Queens hit-and-run victim has called on the driver to surrender

The family of a Queens hit-and-run victim is stepping forward to call on the driver to surrender.

Police said the victim, 47-year-old Lucia Grant, was crossing North Conduit Avenue around 6 a.m. Saturday. The driver kept driving.

Grant’s family claims she was temporarily staying in Queens after her Bronx apartment was damaged by fire.

Grant’s family is begging for additional information about her death.

“I demand justice for my mother; I need to know what automobile hit her, who was in the car, why she was hit, where she was going, and any other information anyone has. Because I’m quite sure she contacted someone that early in the morning, which doesn’t make sense to me,” a family member explained.

According to police, Grant did not have an ID when she was hit while crossing the street.

“They said she didn’t have an ID, that’s weird to me because my mom walks with a bag and ID all the time,” according to a family member.

They are currently fundraising for her funeral through a GoFundMe page.

I believe that was a violent hit on her; for someone to only hit her upper body and not her lower body is brutal. “I don’t think it was a hit-and-run,” a family member stated.
