The Suspect Had Allegedly Violated a Protection From Abuse Order in Eddington

Now, the name of the suspect in this case has not been made public. Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office got word that a man had reportedly broken a protection from abuse order in Eddington.

This is when the incident started. That person had moved in with a friend because they were afraid for their safety, but the suspect had shown up, breaking the protection order.

The Brewer Police tried to stop the suspect’s car earlier that evening, but he got away. This was learned by the Sheriff’s Office as their investigation continued.

Sources told detectives that the man admitted he didn’t stop for the police, that he had threatened to kill someone, and that he had a gun. At this point, more than one agency joined the search.
