St. Croix guy accused of strangling a woman

Alvin Kentish Jr., 46, is charged with second-degree assault in a domestic violence case on St. Croix.

Kentish handed himself in to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station four days after a lady accused him of abuse.

Police said the woman said she and Kentish got into an argument that resulted in him strangling her and punching her in the face, leaving visible injuries.

Kentish confirmed to police that he put his hands around the woman’s throat, but claimed it was out of self-defense.

Kentish was held at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Golden Grove awaiting a court appearance.
