It’s that lovely time of year again, when the air is full of holiday spirit. Two Spirit Christmas stores in New York have officially opened their doors, signaling the start of the Northeast’s holiday season.
Initially, eleven Spirit Christmas stores were planned, as revealed in October, with three in New York. However, the corporation has now changed its plans, decreasing the total number to eight locations, with only two making their debut in the Empire State.

Although a third location in Albany was previously announced, it is no longer included on the Spirit Christmas website. Across the Northeast, there are four stores in New Jersey and one each in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
The two Spirit Christmas stores in New York are located at:
- Sayville Plaza, 5181 Sunrise Hwy, Bohemia
- Chestnut Plaza, 2020 South Rd., Poughkeepsie
Step inside and immerse yourself in a world of festive cheer. According to a Spirit Christmas press release, you’ll find a lovely selection of seasonal decor, apparel, inflatables, gifts, and stocking stuffers. As you explore, you’ll come across a life-sized gingerbread village, where you can:
- Mail your letter to Santa
- Discover if you’ve been naughty or nice
- Meet and take photos with Santa himself

Book Your Santa Visit Early! By organizing your visit with Santa ahead of time, you’ll receive a unique treat: a complimentary present as well as two personalized greetings – a joyful phone call and a sweet bedtime tale video from Santa.

Are you planning to visit the New York locations? According to the website, you can visit from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Meet Santa in Store
Santa will make his magical arrival on Friday, November 29, and will remain available until Tuesday, December 24. You may see him on Thursdays and Fridays from 3-7 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Don’t miss out on the few sessions available on Christmas Eve.
