JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — On Friday evening, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Joplin E-911 received reports of a motorcycle collision with a car that occurred in the 1300 block of S Rangeline.
Those who responded included Joplin Police, Joplin Fire, and METS Ambulance. The MoDOT Emergency Response team arrived to provide assistance with the signboard and the control of traffic.
A passenger car and a motorcycle with a cruiser-like design are both lying in the road when we arrive at the scene.
Immediately, with lights and sirens, a man passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The injury was characterized to us as a broken leg of a very serious nature.
As he was being transported, he continued to be awake and alert while conversing with members of the emergency medical services staff.
The automobile was capable of driving solely on its own power. The motorcycle was relocated to a parking lot that was located nearby.
Through the location of the collision, traffic was impacted for approximately forty-five minutes.
