San José Police Arrest Two Suspects for Human Trafficking, Rescue Survivors

Two people have been arrested by the San José Police Department on charges of selling people. A report from SJPD says that Xiaohong Yang, 55, of Mountain House, CA, and Mei-Chen Juan, 53, of San José, CA, were arrested after a month-long probe that began with several tips from the public.

A group of specialized SJPD teams worked together with the Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) to look into the case. On September 11, they searched a house on the 2700 block of McKee Road in San José that they thought might be a brothel.

Two adult female victims of human trafficking were found and given help during the operation. They are now known as human trafficking survivors.

The two suspects were caught in San José and then taken to the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges linked to running the illegal business. The SJPD Downtown Services Unit, METRO, the Street Crimes Unit, the 290 Team, and SJPD Patrol Officers all worked together on the project.

The San José Police Department said again that they were committed to ending human trafficking in the city and asked people to report any information they had about it to the Human Trafficking Task Force.

More details about the case has been asked for by the department. You can email Detective Goldberg #4860 of the San José Police Department’s Human Trafficking Task Force or call (408) 537-1224.
