Queens woman, 64, jumps from a third-floor window to escape knife-wielding son, according to the NYPD

A 64-year-old woman jumped from her third-floor window, shattering her leg, to get away from her knife-wielding son, authorities said Saturday.

Cops were still seeking for the 36-year-old son on Saturday, who had been detained more than 30 times, according to police.

Cops were called to the woman’s home on Shore Blvd. near 20th Ave. in Astoria at 10:30 p.m., when they discovered her sprawled out on the ground with a fractured leg.

They rushed to the third-floor flat, but her son had already vanished.

EMS rushed the woman to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was treated for a broken leg.

The woman claimed that she was arguing with her son when he took a knife and threatened her with it. She informed police that she couldn’t get past him and had no alternative but to jump out the window.

“She is a very sweet lady. The woman has lived in this neighborhood for many years, according to a neighbor who wishes to remain unknown. “She aids the homeless. She probably feeds them, and they help her. Hopefully she’s okay.”

Investigators were searching the neighborhood for security footage that could assist them locate the son.

His previous arrests extend back to 2009, for robbery, burglary, aggravated harassment, and petty larceny, according to a police source.

“It troubles me since I arrive home late. “It makes me nervous,” remarked a 27-year-old neighbor. “I hope they catch him quickly. “Bro is still on the loose, which is scary.”
