The Homicide Squad is looking into a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that happened on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 7:09 p.m. in Freeport.
According to detectives, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2006 Toyota Scion heading westbound on Merrick Road near Guy Lombardo Blvd., attempting to cross from the south to the north.
The 40-year-old male suffered head and body damage. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is classified in critical condition.
The male operator, aged 27, remained on the scene.
The investigation is underway.
