Old Town first responders receive reports of someone falling in water; search yields no proof.

Old Town, Maine – First responders said there is no sign that someone fell into the water near the dam in Old Town on Tuesday afternoon.

Old Town Fire Chief Kyle Milan says they went to examine the area after receiving complaints from citizens concerned about someone walking near the bridge.

They brought boats but were unable to use them owing to the icy conditions in the river, so they asked the city’s drone to check the region.

He believes having the drone is quite useful, especially this time of year.

“The drone was very useful, we were able to clear the river and around the bridge without putting any of our firefighter’s lives in danger,” commented Milan.

According to the chief, they searched for nearly an hour and a half with the drone and found no one in the water or fresh breaks in the ice.
