Nick Cannon, the father of 12 children from several women, is sharing his “healing” journey after being diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. The 44-year-old artist originally confessed his problem to Dr. Cheyenne Bryant on the November 8 episode of his Counsel Culture podcast.
“I’ve taken all the power away from the term narcissism ’cause I’ve researched it and I understand it,” Cannon told the audience. “Call me what you want…” If I didn’t know what it was, I would have a problem with it.”
The Mayo Clinic defines narcissistic personality disorder as a condition in which people “have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance,” which can have an influence on their employment, relationships, and income.
While reflecting on his diagnosis, Cannon admitted, “I still don’t completely understand it, but I’ve always wanted to be tested for it.” “I took a lot of tests,” he remarked in an interview published on November 28.
In addition to his latest diagnoses, Cannon discussed his neurodivergence. “I have been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a child, I had dyslexia, but knowing that I’m a neurodivergent person, I kind of always knew,” he stated.
