Despite the fact that the Menomonie Police Department has received multiple complaints of possible threats to schools, it has been determined that these reports are not accurate.

The Menomonie Police Department received many reports on Monday, September 30, 2024, regarding a Snapchat message that indicated a possible threat of a school shooting at the Menomonie Middle School.

The message was shown to have been sent using Snapchat. The Menomonie police department has granted us access to this material.

The authorities came to the conclusion that the threat was not credible.

The Menomonie Police Department reports that on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, officials received a complaint of a second threat to a different school that was unrelated to the first threat.

This threat was said to have been made to a different school. In addition, it was determined that the threat in question did not have any kind of credibility.

The Menomonie Police Department is requesting that parents have conversations with their children about the significance of protecting login passwords, internet safety, and appropriate gadget use.

These conversations should take place in the context of conversations with their children.
