Man arrested after allegedly threatening his family with an axe

It is CARMEL. The authorities said that a guy threatened his family with an axe, which led to the calm resolution of an incident that occurred at a residence in Carmel.

After receiving a report of a conflict between members of the same family on Monday evening, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office went to the residence located on Five Road in Carmel.

According to the sheriff’s office, Eugene Woodard, who was 44 years old at the time, attempted to break into the house by giving the impression to members of his family who were already inside that he would smash down the door.

A criminal trespass notice had been issued to Woodard as a result of his earlier presence on that property.

To establish a perimeter and negotiate with Woodard, who was apparently armed with an axe and a huge knife, the sheriff’s office dispatched a significant number of resources to the location where the incident occurred.

In an alleged statement to authorities, Woodard stated that he was prepared to fight and that he would need to be shot before he could leave the property.

After a considerable amount of time was spent in negotiations, Woodard eventually consented to surrender and drop his guns into the ground.

The Penobscot County Jail was the location where Woodard was transported after being charged with criminal trespass and refusing to submit to arrest or detention following the incident.
