Lusby Man passes in the Owings area crash

Troopers from the Maryland State Police are conducting an investigation into a crash that involved a single car that took place in Calvert County on Saturday morning at approximately 4:35 a.m. The accident resulted in the death of a man from Lusby who was 22 years old.

A notification issued by the state police stated that the collision that took place on October 12 took place on Route 4 close to Skinners Turn Road.

“The deceased was identified as Perrin Douglas Hupp,” the announcement claimed, adding that personnel from emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene of the incident.

According to the police, Hupp was the sole occupant of a Mazda 6 and took the wheel.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Mazda was driving in the northbound direction on Route 4 when it lost control and collided with a utility pole.

The release added that the police believe that alcohol was not a part in the incident.

A crash team from the Maryland State Police is currently in charge of the investigation. Currently, the investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing.

Hupp finished his high school education at Patuxent in the year 2020.

In the year 2024, he is the tenth person to lose their life on a road in Calvert County.
