Lottery ticket winner misses out on becoming millionaire due to competition rules

Not winning the lottery meant that the winner didn’t become a millionaire.

Wales’s £1 million ticket has now passed the deadline for claiming their win.

The British Lottery said the winning EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker ticket was bought on April 16 in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The National Lottery’s senior winners’ adviser, Andy Carter, said, “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.”

“But the money will now be added to the £30 million that is raised every week for projects that are paid for by the National Lottery.”

Rhondda Cynon Taf has had a number of projects receive National Lottery funds in the past. In May of this year, the Rhondda Hearing Impaired Support Group was given a grant of £18,025.

Sadly, the winner did not claim their prize by the Sunday 180-day limit.

People who played the National Lottery were told to check their tickets again for the winning code, but no one came forward.

A lucky ticket holder won a “life-changing” £7.4 million jackpot in the Lotto on Saturday. The jackpot for Wednesday is expected to be £2 million.

After getting five out of six numbers and the bonus ball, two people each won £1 million.

The numbers that won the lottery were 02, 11, 13, 17, 39, and 41, with 37 being the extra number. Drawing machine Merlin and 9-ball set were used.

Andy Carter said at the time, “Exciting news! Tonight’s £7.4m jackpot winner has been found.”

“This lucky lottery winner’s life changed in an amazing way at that moment.”

“Players should check their tickets and call us if they think they are tonight’s winner.”

In Lotto Hotpicks, which uses the same numbers, no one got the top prize of £350,000 for matching five out of five numbers. However, five people did win £13,000 for matching four out of five numbers.

No one won the top prize of £500,000 for matching five numbers and the Thunder ball in Saturday’s Thunder ball draw. However, one player did win £5,000 for matching five numbers.

The numbers that came up on the Thunder ball were 10, 12, 19, 33, and 34. The Thunder ball was 3.
