It was a frightening weekend for a Long Island lady, who is currently listed in stable condition at South Nassau Communities Hospital following a violent altercation with a guy she lives with, according to authorities.
Thomas Patrick Boyle, 31, has been charged with attempted murder.
Boyle was ordered held without bond in the county prison by Judge Michael A. Montesano after his arraignment on Sunday morning.
A schedule of Long Beach employees shows a beach worker with the same name and age.
At Boyle’s arraignment, an Assistant District Attorney told the criminal court that Boyle exclaimed that he was going to kill the woman before reportedly smashing down a door as she attempted to flee. According to the Asst. DA, Boyle allegedly prevented his victim from phoning 9-1-1, taking the phone from her hand before fleeing.
According to additional information presented by police in court files, Boyle allegedly threw a glass ashtray at the woman before leaving.
The Assistant DA also informed Judge Boyle that a criminal record check revealed a conviction in Pennsylvania on February 3, 2020, for “Sale or Use of Noxious Substances”.
Boyle was charged with attempted murder, two counts of weapon possession, assault, a misdemeanor charge for interfering with the woman’s 9-1-1 call, and two misdemeanor counts of mischief for damaging property and stealing her cellphone, as well as criminal mischief.
Judge Montesano ordered an order of protection for the victim, which is effective immediately. Boyle’s criminal case will be handled by Garden City criminal lawyer Joseph A. Lopiccolo.
Boyle pleaded not guilty on all allegations.
His next planned court appearance is on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Mineola.
Boyle is presumed innocent of any criminal accusations at this time.
