Local group encourages students to register to vote ahead of October deadline

To honor National Voter Registration Day, the League of Women Voters of Northwest Missouri traveled to seven different educational institutions on Tuesday.

The purpose of this journey was to encourage people to register to vote.

The diversity of the educational scene was reflected in the fact that these institutions included both secondary schools and higher education institutions.

To urge persons to register to vote and to cast their ballots, as well as to fight for the education of voters and to improve voter literacy, the LWV-NWMO’s goal is to encourage individuals to vote.

As a result of the organization’s visits to high schools in Benton, Central, and Lafayette, as well as to Missouri Western State University, Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, North Central Missouri College in Savannah, and Hillyard Technical Center, approximately 750 students were given the opportunity to interact with the organization. Hillyard Technical Center was also visited by the organization.
