Harris Campaign Reveals Plans To Recount Votes After Trump Swept All seven Battleground States

After her acceptance speech, Vice President Kamala Harris made a strategic move by announcing a plan to count all the votes cast in the 2024 presidential election. Former President Donald Trump won all seven battleground states.

Harris’s funding page for the Harris Victory Fund, which is a joint effort with the Democratic National Committee and state Democratic parties, now says that some of the money raised will go to help with the recount.

Trump won the 2024 election by a close margin, with 312 electoral votes. Trump beat Harris by just a few percentage points in places like Wisconsin and Michigan—in Wisconsin, less than one percentage point, and in Michigan, just under two points.

These very close results are what made Harris decide to count the votes again in states that are very close.

It says on its website that the first $41,300 or $15,000 given by people or PACs will go to the Democratic National Committee to help them.

After this, up to $3,300 or $5,000 per person or PAC will go directly to the Harris campaign’s recount fund.

The funding page doesn’t say when or how the recount will happen yet, but it’s clear that people want this to happen.

Harris conceded the election in a speech at Howard University the day after the election, but she made it clear that she would still be fighting for voting rights and honesty.

There are still no more details from the Harris team about who will be in charge of the recount or when it will happen.

But fans and advocates see this as a big step toward making sure elections are fair, especially in states where the race is close.

Trump won all seven battleground states, and Harris’s campaign says it will count the votes again. This article first ran on Shine My Crown.
