Gov. Walz makes first central WI campaign stop, Vance announces Eau Claire trip

Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, who is running for vice president as a Democrat, stopped at a music hall and brewery in Wausau on Friday as part of the “A New Way Forward” tour for Warren and Walz.

  • This came as the Trump campaign announced Walz’s opponent, Senator JD Vance, would return to Wisconsin next week for a visit to Eau Claire Tuesday
  • This was the Harris-Walz campaign’s first stop in central Wisconsin since they became the presidential ticket, just six days after former President Trump spoke in neighboring Mosinee

Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota and the Democratic candidate for vice president, made the Harris-Walz campaign’s first stop in central Wisconsin on Friday.

Walz criticized how former President Trump ran his campaign and tried to get people to the polls.

“This ticket really gets me excited,” said Michele Norrbom, a voter from Wausau who was at her first election event. “A wonderful mix of people with wonderful personalities.” The best part is that they have a strong plan and are running against Trump.

Walz gave a speech in front of a loud crowd. He talked about important issues like IVF treatments, reproductive rights, and supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia.

He also connected with voters in his nearby state by praising its unions and co-ops and saying that people who live in Wisconsin are tough because they have to deal with harsh winters.

Walz told party workers in Wisconsin that his party is the one of freedom and that it needs Wisconsin to come through. He also told them to get out and vote.

“This race will go through a few states, and Wisconsin is one of them.”Walz said. Some people might say, “Well, that’s a little redder county,” because it will go through a few of them.

It has to do with cutting the profits. It’s about bringing things down. It has to do with the “swing states.”

Walz also said this about former President Trump’s showing in the debate earlier this week:

“If the Ukraine question [to Trump at the debate] wasn’t easy enough, there’s one even easier than that,” he stated. “And that one is: ‘When you lost the 2020 election, why do you continue to lie about it?'”

At the same time, Trump’s team said that Walz’s opponent, Senator JD Vance, would be back in Wisconsin next week and visit Eau Claire on Tuesday.

When Walz came to Wisconsin, a spokeswoman for Team Trump wrote, in part:

Tim Walz, the radical leftist governor of Minnesota, is now trying to bring his failed policies to Wisconsin.

This is something that all Wisconsinites should be worried about. Walz pushed a socialist agenda as governor, which had terrible effects.

Friday, November 8 is 53 days away.
