The money will be sent directly to the bank accounts of people who qualify, or they will get a check in the mail. The IRS says that in 2021, about $2.4 billion will be given to taxpayers who did not claim a refundable credit.
In order to get this credit, people who got stimulus payments should have gotten less than the full amount or missed payments. But on Friday, the IRS said that it had found that many people who were eligible for the credit had not taken it.
It is important to note that most qualified taxpayers have already received the government stimulus payments, which used to be called economic impact payment (EIPs). The IRS has announced that people who qualified for the Recovery Rebate Credit but either did not enter any information or left the Recovery Rebate Credit data section blank on their 2021 tax return will get extra money back.
There were how many rounds of COVID-19 stimulus payments?
