A prison officer has been arrested after being allegedly filmed having sex with an inmate.
The Sun newspaper reported that footage of the guard and a male prisoner was shared with prisoners at HMP Five Wells in Northampton shire.
A jail spokesperson stated, “A prison custody officer has been suspended and arrested by Northampton shire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.”
“It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.”
G4S, the operator, runs HMP Five Wells privately.
Earlier this year, Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, pleaded guilty to misconduct after having sex with an inmate in a cell at HMP Wandsworth in south London.
A police investigation was launched after officers became aware of a video shot inside the jail.
