JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — Joplin Police reveal the motorcycle and SUV crash Wednesday evening resulted in one fatality to a passenger on the motorcycle.
More is revealed of the crash at 44th and South Main in a release.
“Preliminary indications show a northbound black Toyota SUV was making a left turn onto 44th St when it collided with a blue Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling southbound on Main St. A passenger on the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the passenger is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.”

Both the SUV driver and a passenger were not hurt.
Around 10:15 p.m., Newton County Coroner Dale Owen went to the spot to claim the body.
The Joplin Police Major Crash Team is still looking into what happened. Just before midnight, all lanes on southbound Main were opened again.
