Families and survivors of the Maine mass shooting are pursuing legal action

Legal action is being taken by one hundred survivors and relatives of victims of the mass shooting that occurred in Lewiston, Maine, about a year after the deadliest mass shooting in the history of Vermont.

The Department of Defense, the United States Army, and Keller Army Community Hospital in New York are all receiving a legal notice that is being served on Tuesday.

Under the guise of carelessness, they assert that the organizations in question did not respond effectively to the warning indicators that were provided by Army Reserve Sgt. Robert Card.

Additionally, the lawsuit asserts that Card was let to remain in the community despite having a severe mental disorder that was not being treated, and that he was also granted access to assault weapons.

Card opened fire and killed eighteen people inside of a popular bowling alley and a nearby tavern in the month of October in the year 2023.

Making a legal notification is the initial step in the process of initiating a case for wrongful death.
