Cub Scouts thank the community for support at Dam Days

For their help with our Second Annual Dam Days Lemonade Stand, the Spring Valley-Elmwood Cub Scouts, Pack 145, would like to thank the people of Spring Valley.

Because people in our community are so kind, the Scouts will be able to go to both the Spooky-Ree Overnight Camp at Camp Kiwanis this fall and the Polar Cubs Day Camp at Phillipo Scout Camp this winter. The Scouts will enjoy these adventures even more because they worked hard for them.

People in the community have also given money to help the Scouts with their service projects at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Centre (a care home) and the Spring Valley Food Pantry.

Also, the Scouts want to thank the Spring Valley Lions Club and Mooney’s Rusty Horse Bar & Grill for donating the bounce houses for our Dam Days event.

Finally, the Scouts want to thank everyone who came to the Flag Ceremony on Saturday, September 21, 2024, early in the morning. The service was led by Eagle Scout Sam Miller, Cub Scout Pack 145, and the Rickerd-Danielson American Legion Post 227.

It rained, but it was beautiful. A Flag Ceremony honours the American flag as a sign of our country and all the people, goals, and dreams it stands for. Along with other flags from the Village, the flag from the Veteran’s War Memorial site was carefully taken down. On the new flagpole, an American flag was raised in its place.
