POLK COUNTY – During a routine traffic stop, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office discovered an Improvised Explosive Device and seized methamphetamines.
The Marathon County Bomb Squad assisted in the removal of the explosive device. Two people were arrested and charged: Nicholas Carlson, 43, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, and Cory Stanhope, 30, of Chetek, Wisconsin.
Stanhope’s most recent appearance was on November 4, 2024, and the Hon. Judge Jeffery Anderson accepted his guilty plea to Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
Carlson is scheduled to appear again in December 2024.
