Cottage Grove man drowns at state park in Wisconsin

A man from Cottage Grove died at a state park in western Wisconsin. It looks like he drowned.

It was 1:24 p.m., and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was called to Kinnickinnic State Park in Clifton. A man had jumped off a stopped pontoon and was not seen again.

Keith Taylor, 66 years old, was finally pulled from the water by family and friends who did what they could to save his life.

When first rescuers got there, they took over, but Taylor was already dead when they got there.

A 1,242-acre park where the St. Croix and Kinnickinnic rivers meet is Kinnickinnic State Park. It is just east of the line between Minnesota and Wisconsin.
