Cops: Durand man drunk at wheel eighth time

It is the eighth time that a man from Durand has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Bail was determined to be $2,500. At approximately midnight on Friday, Danny Standifer, who is 57 years old, was driving at an excessive speed on State Highway 25 north of Durand, as stated in the arrest record.

As the constable approached the window on the driver’s side, he noted that he “could smell a strong odour of intoxicants emitting from inside.” The constable stated that the odour became more intense as Standifer continued to speak.

A couple of beers were consumed by the man at four o’clock in the afternoon.

After eight hours, a breathalyser test revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was 0.13% according to the results.
