Baldwin man is in custody after allegedly assaulting 2 cops responding to a domestic disturbance

The First Squad has arrested a Baldwin man for an assault that occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. in Baldwin.

According to detectives, officers responded to a disturbance at a Bonnie Drive residence. Upon arrival, officers encountered defendant Karlhentz Louissaint, 29, who was enraged and began to fight them.

The defendant was belligerent and combative while resisting arrest, causing two officers to be injured. Both officers were sent to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Defendant Louissaint has been charged with third-degree menacing, third-degree criminal mischief, two instances of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
