On a rainy night in South Ozone Park, Queens, a tire mark and bloodied clothing on the ground serve as chilling reminders of Tanya’s sister’s tragic death.

“I want to know what happened,” she explained.

Tanya’s 51-year-old sister, Vidya Dookran-Franco, worked as a substitute teacher and was active in the community.

According to police, Dookran-Franco was hit by a yellow taxi that jumped the curb after colliding with a Honda Accord at Lefferts Boulevard and 115th Avenue at 3 a.m. on Saturday.

According to her older sister, the victim had just left a bar down the block and was walking back to her car with a couple of friends when they were unexpectedly hit while on the sidewalk. The collision caused damage.

According to police, two other men sustained minor injuries. Dookran-Franco, on the other hand, died as a result of his severe physical injuries.

Police are seen on video inspecting one of the drivers, but no one has been arrested.

This is the second time this week that a yellow cab has rammed into pedestrians. It also occurred on Christmas in Herald Square.
