A New York City father has been charged with the death of his emaciated 4-year-old son, only one day after his mother was arrested

Police say the father of the 4-year-old Harlem boy who died from being too cold and not getting enough food was charged on Tuesday, the same day that the child’s mother was also arrested in the troubling case.

Police say that Laron Modlin, 25, is being charged with criminally negligent murder and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the death of his son Jahmeik Modlin.

Nytavia Ragsdale, the boy’s mother, was charged with the same crimes on Monday after calling for help on Sunday night, saying she found her son unconscious in their apartment off of Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., according to police and law enforcement sources who spoke to The Post.

It was reported that the child was taken to Harlem Hospital, where doctors found that he was severely undernourished and cold.

ABC 7 reported that the child was found to have eczema, even though police at first thought he had burn marks.

It was said that he was dead early Monday morning.

Around 9:15 p.m., police led Laron Modlin out of the 32nd Precinct while EMTs followed behind and a small group of Harlem residents yelled at him.

One man yelled, “You’re going to die in jail, motherf–ker!”

Modlin wouldn’t talk about the claims that he didn’t feed his son, but he did say that his young son had never had burns.

Before getting into the back of the car, he said, “There were never no burn marks.”

Hart ripped both Modlin and Ragsdale outside the station.

The mother of three told her husband, “Get rid of both of the pieces of s–t—the mom and the dad.” “Not to feed a child? “That’s not right.”

The three other children of Jameik were taken to the hospital to be checked out and then given to children services, according to the police.

The death of Jahmeik made people in the family’s apartment building very sick.

Someone who only gave her first name, Shannon, said, “It’s a tragedy.” “That child missed out on a lot of life because no one cared for them.”

She also said of the mother, “I don’t know her but people are talking.” “No one saw her with those kids.” They had no idea she had kids. It’s a shame.

A memorial for Jahmeik was set up outside the building. It had lights, a big teddy bear, and other stuffed animals.

Another neighbor, 46, said they couldn’t understand what was going on.

The woman said of Ragsdale, “I saw her sometimes, but we never talked.” This was before the father was also charged. “Like most neighbors, she didn’t say good morning or good night.”
