A Maine woman who was hit by a Skowhegan plow on Wednesday morning has been identified

If you wanted to get to work early this morning, you probably saw that almost every other car on the road was a plow.

While we did not receive much precipitation, there was a significant amount of scraping and sanding required to make the streets and highways safe for movement.

Sadly, it appears that a Central Maine plow struck and injured a pedestrian in Skowhegan early this morning.

According to the KJ, Sierra Trabue, 31, was hurt while walking down Madison Avenue in Skowhegan. Trabue was strolling north on the edge of the street’s northbound lane at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the newspaper, she was clipped by a plow mounted on the Skowhegan Highway Department truck.

Trabue was brought to the hospital with what seems to be a broken arm and a forehead injury. We all hope she recovers quickly.

It’s unclear why Trabue was strolling in the roadway instead than on the sidewalk, but the municipality had recently received complaints that Skowhegan’s sidewalks weren’t always swept correctly. In fact, this was mentioned during a recent town council meeting.
