A Kansas man gets charged with various narcotics offenses following a traffic stop on I-44.
Lamarr Davis, 45, faces charges of drug trafficking, assault against law officers, and resisting arrest.
Just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, a Joplin officer stopped Davis’ vehicle at the Range Line exit on I-44 for a traffic infraction.
Davis attempted to flee the scene as the officer was preparing to search the vehicle with his K9 companion.
According to court records, three more police were on the scene and all four had to battle with Davis to keep him from driving away, including deploying a TASER on him.
Investigators said they found a small baggie containing a white rock material that tested positive for fentanyl or meth.
