Police disclosed additional information after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a garbage truck outside a Long Island retail complex.
The event occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. in Carle Place, near the intersection of Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road, near Roosevelt Field Mall. Friday, December 6.
According to Nassau County Police, a 21-year-old woman was hit by a garbage truck while attempting to cross Old Country Road northbound.
The guy suffered major head and body injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot by Nassau County Police doctors.
There were no other automobiles involved, and no one else was hurt. The garbage truck driver remained on the site.
