Bodycam footage shows police arresting a guy in Oklahoma who allegedly shot at two neighbors and struck one of them. According to authorities, he committed the act because he was furious that they were working on a piece of land.
In the footage, Michael Stevens, 41, is seen proactively surrendering by kneeling on the side of a rural road, hands behind his back.
According to an arrest warrant application acquired by Law&Crime, authorities received a shots fired call to Alexi Lane in Oklahoma City at 2:58 p.m. on September 13.
“Michael appeared to be intoxicated and made several voluntary statements to the officers,” police wrote in documents. “He informed the officers that he spotted persons removing soil west of his property.
Michael had no idea whether the land had been sold or not, but he was upset that it was being cleared, and when he heard the chainsaw, he snapped.
Police report that Stevens’ neighbors were hired to clear bush and trees from five acres of recently purchased land north of their home.
Stevens allegedly claimed he challenged the men. The affidavit states that one of them “gave him an attitude.” Stevens’ alleged response was to shoot him and attempt to shoot the other man. Both victims fled.

Investigators said that subsequent investigation indicated Stevens was armed with an AR-15-style gun.
“Michael shot [uninjured victim’s] truck more than twenty times, striking the front windshield and the side windows,” the report states. “[The injured victim] crashed his pickup truck into a tree and realized that he was shot twice in the back.”
Stevens has pled not guilty to two counts of shooting with intent to kill and three counts of felon in possession of a firearm. The latter accusations derive from his guilty plea in a DUI case in 2016.
A hearing in the shooting case is scheduled for December 13.
