'They trying to drag me like I was their dinner' A woman describes how her brother was mauled to death by dogs for 23 minutes

A Kansas City man who died after being mauled by a pack of dogs described the creatures who attacked him for 23 minutes as “trying to drag me like I was their dinner” to his relatives.

Chris Culbertson, 46, was attacked by a pack of pit bull dogs in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday night, suffering 300 bites, 100 lacerations, and requiring 500 stitches, according to Fox4 News.

Culbertson, who, according to his family, loved dogs and owned a pit bull, survived the initial attack but died four hours later in the hospital from sepsis.

The savage attack, which was filmed on a neighbor’s CCTV camera, began when the pack of dogs circled the man before he fell off his bike and began to devour him on the ground.

Fox4 News said that moments later, two additional dogs emerged from the fence and bit the man’s legs, arms, feet, and even his face.

“They pulled his cheek, jaw, and heels off his feet. “I can’t believe some dogs could do this to a human,” the victim’s sister, Angela Culbertson, told KSHB.

Culbertson apparently did not know the dogs that attacked him and informed his family after the attack, “I was reaching out for help, and nobody was helping me.”

One woman who lived in the neighborhood told the channel that she tried to beat the dogs off with a golf club but was unsuccessful as they attacked her. She then ran to phone 911 for assistance.

According to KSHB, a second victim was brought to the hospital in serious condition; it is unclear whether this was the woman who attempted to intervene.

When police arrived on the scene, they utilized their sirens and lights to scare away the pack.

Another local resident apparently told the site that the dogs were trained to fight, and Culbertson’s family has urged for the owners to be punished.

“I mean, the dog owners should be held responsibility for this. This is murder, and they trained these dogs to do it, and they are their dogs. So it’s their responsibility,” Angela Culbertson explained.
