Food stamps (SNAP) are a great way for low-income American families to make sure they always have food. A natural tragedy, on the other hand, can affect more families. D-SNAP is run by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Don’t forget that some counties will have online pre-registration open. Even though the deadline is coming up quickly, you should file as soon as possible to make sure you don’t lose this food money.
When is the deadline for PHASE 2 to claim D-SNAP?
From now until November 8, counties such as Sarasota, Polk, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Hernando, and Charlotte can get help from the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
It will end at 11:59 p.m. for applications or pre-registration. Because of this, you should do it right now and not wait until the last minute, when too many other people might be doing it at the same time.
After the pre-registration process is over, you need to do something else. The people who want to apply must call the D-SNAP Call center from the seven counties above: Charlotte, Hernando, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota.
What is the D-SNAP telephone number in these 7 counties?
The phone number you need to call once you’re done with registration is (888) 348-0408. It has hours, just like any other office in the US. That’s why you should call between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.
To finish the phone interview, you need to make your call on the set day. D-SNAP offices will be closed on Election Day because of changes to the hours they are open. That means you should call after this important day.
